Greetings from Koolhoven Airbase

Post by Antoine »

Dear Heit and Mem,

I'm having a great time here in Brabant, and the people are very friendly in the south.
When I'm flying my demo, lots of telephonecalls are being received at the PRO-office from local residents of Koolhoven, a district of Tilburg.
I guess they want to show their gratitude to me, for brightening up their boring lives behind the gladiolus in front of their windows.
Being unemployed is not that funny, you know.

Now that everybody is happy so soon, I can shorten my stay here a bit, so I'm coming home tomorrow.

Love you all,

Tobias

PS Herewith I'll sent you some photos made by Antoine, during my lovely stay.

Don't tell me the people who always complain have won???

I have a idea: The Dutch goverment is moving everything from the RNLAF to the south of the country (=true). They close EHLW and the Cornfield range. But then we need a new range, lets call that the Koolhoven Range.

But the pictures are great, that's a big advantage of Gilze-Rijen AFB.

Koolhoven? Did I miss something, allthough I wouldn't mind if we gave our own airfields a second name!

Funny to read that people in a residential area named Koolhoven start complaining about aircrafts. I guess they don't know that their residential area shares the name with that other famous Dutch aircraft builder?
Ironic

I doubt that many Dutch people know who Koolhoven is and what he has done! I don't think they teach that at school nowadays. Maybe the talk about Fokker and make a link with Spyker between aircraft and cars. But Koolhoven? Don't believe so!

The above was extracted from the Photo forum, where it should not be.
BTW, building your complaints about people with different opinions, who execute their rights, partly on useless assumptions does not make your argument stronger. That does not say I do not agree with some of the opinions aired here. However, one comment was deleted for rule-busting.
