Interesting article on the effects of the volcanic ash - looks like the Finnish AF may need to replace the engines in up to 5 F-18's.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the damaged Finnish F-18s were on a training sortie in the northern part of Finland. So the planes concerned are not the ones participating in Frisian Flag.

Yes, you are probably correct, only you know how it goes with these findings. Have the Finnish flown a sortie on thursday morning? If they have they will be checked as well.
(They have 6 Hornets in Holland, flying north of Holland and in an airspace that was closed a few hours later.. If the ashes have reached Finland on the 15th than the ashes were there on the 14th for sure and could have affected others as well..) They are flying pretty north of here. Maybe all other aircraft involved may have to be serviced if this is the case. This is just my vision...
