Dear aviation photographer,
You all know that Dwayne's Photo Service will stop processing Kodachrome slidefilms at the end of 2010. Probably a lot of photographers will have many fresh films in stock at the end of 2010 which they did not shoot because of a lack of trips, shows and photoshoots. This means that you can put your expensive films into the trash-can. So I decided to send the following summon to Dwayne in the USA and to Kodak in Switzerland yesterday. If you like to support my summon please send your own summon (or a copy of mine) to the following addresses:
-Dwayne's Photo Service, 415 S. 32nd Street, Parsons, Kansas 67357, USA (fax +1-620-421-3174) - telephone (free) +1-800-522-3940;
-Kodak Photo Service SA, 17 Av. des Baumettes, CH-1020 Renens, Switzerland (fax +41-21-6314546, telephone +41-21-6314545, e-mail CH-kodachrome@kodak.com) - attention Mrs Francoise Amrein.
Hopefully it will help.
Thanks,
Volkert van den Berg.
SUMMON
WILL DWAYNE’S PHOTO SERVICE PROCESS KODACHROME SLIDE FILMS AFTER 2010?
On behalf of hundreds of photographers of military aircraft I hope that Dwaynes’s Photo Service is willing to process Kodachrome slide films on a regular base also after 2010. At the end of 2010 we still have many films in stock which we have to shoot in 2011 or later i.a. because of extended trips or a lack of shows and photoshoots.
Yesterday I have spoken with someone within Dwayne Photo Service, and there are also some rumours on the internet, that Dwayne will consider to continue processing Kodachrome slide films “if there is still demand and if Kodak will supply enough chemicals”.
I have sent this summon to Dwayne Photo Service and Kodak Photo Service SA in Switzerland (for further action) by fax.
It is already a tragedy that the Kodachrome slide film will stop but knowing that our fresh unexposured films can go into the trash-can after 2010 is hard to live with.
Loosdrecht, the 7th. of May 2010.
Yours truly,
Volkert van den Berg.
