Scramble 372 is out now

Post by Melchior Timmers »

Hi all,

The May 2010 issue of Scramble has been released this week!

In this month's edition, we have special features about:

- Airfield guides of South-East Florida
Florida, known for its Disney parks, Everglades and Keys by many, also has a lot to offer to those interested in civil aviation and to bizzjets lovers in particular. In a ten page overview, all main airports around Miami and Fort Lauderdale are presented with all information you need to know for a successful trip.

- Haiti: Part 2 - the last remains
After covering the aid response to Haiti in the first part, our editor now had an exclusive look at the remains of the aircraft and helicopters of the Corps d'Aviation d'Haiti which can be found around Camp Ancient Aéroport Militare at Port-au-Prince. This is the first extensive aviation report from this country since the early nineties.

- Chile
With the bi-annual FIDAE air show and the air force's 80th Anniversary flypast ahead, many enthusiasts planned a trip to visit Chile. But February 2010 ended with an immense earthquake in Chile which made you imagine the local authorities had other things on their mind than hosting some aviation enthusiasts. Luckily, it turned otherwise on most of the locations that were visited. We have a showreport of the FIDAE and the flypast and combined these with some airfield guides and a triptease. enjoy!

- Wings of the Dragon - part 1
Seventy-six years ago the prototype De Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide made its first flight, so it seems a good moment to pay tribute to this interesting light civil transport and military trainer of which, even today, a number is still active. But to understand the history of the Dragon Rapide, one has to know more of its family tree. This starts this month with the De Havilland DH.84 Dragon.

- Brigada de Aviación del Ejército.
The final asset of Chile that is covered this month, is the Brigada de Aviación del Ejército (BAVE). Read all about the past, present and the future of the Chilean Army Aviation, including the ORBAT and a run-down of all known aircraft and helicopters used currently and in the past.

Our monthly returning topics:
-Movements and trips Netherlands, Belgium + Rest of the World, civil and military.
-The latest news, both civil and military.
-Updates on the world's aircraft fleets, civil and military.
-Aircraft mishaps in Dustpan and Brush.
-Wrecks & Relics.
-Warbirds.
