Here is the story from IDF, tea at a police station, and singing in a karaoke bar. This is [edit: part 1 of] the story from the day of days of our Asia trip 2009. [part 2 here, too much non-aviation for this forum]
Everything was arranged perfectly for our spotters-day at Ching Chuan Kang AFB in Taichung, approx. 200 km southwest of Taipei. The sky appeared in azure blue guise, we arrived punctual, satisfied, and without incidents.
To our great joy within a few minutes the eagerly anticipated CK-F-1 –also called IDF- started to a mission,
unknowing that they would affect the course of the day considerably. Anyway, one hour later the jets from Taiwanese production glided in again. We were delighted…
However, the small source of luck dried up quickly… Two black-and-white cars with funny colored lights on the roof stopped right next to us.
Swiftly a few constables arose out of their cars and clarified –with limited English but unequivocally- that they didn’t agree with our activity....... the whole story you get in our Taichung Report.
Here are just some Photos from the Base CCK.
