(notes: as C-130s have become a rather rare breed in our region and with a whole squadron equipped with 13 brand-new examples of the J-version at Ramstein, I made another journey to this USAF base, hoping for activity of a few "Hercys". However, apart of the welcome activity of eight C-17s during mid-afternoon, a lot of patience was required until the first based C-130 departed at late afternoon. The first pair of C-130Js even taxied back to the ramp after lining up on the runway, before successfully departing half an hour later, followed by another two examples. Also of interest were training approaches of no less than five fighter aircraft from Spangdahlem. My highlight of the day was the US Navy C-9B, as I had thought the type had already been withdrawn from use. All in all, not the best but at least another successful day out at "Superbase" Ramstein ...)
