IATA Resolution 762

Post by Hans »

Hi,

The IATA is responsible for the two-digit airline designators, like KL for KLM, BA for British Airways etc.
Those designators were introduced as a result of 'IATA Resolution 762'. But who knows when this resolution exactly came into effect? And if somebody could provide me with the text of this resolution, I would appreciate this very much!

Regards,

Hans

Hi James,

Already found this page, but it is about assigning domain names on the internet, in the .aero top-level (like www.xxx.aero), which only refers to this particular resolution, without giving any details on the resolution itself.

But thanks for the effort!

Nope; our experience with IATA is that they are not very cooperative when you are not a (paying) member.

Hi United,

I already found this document too ;-)
But it does not state when this resolution came into effect.

Thanks for the effort though! But I guess I should have told in my first post, I (off course) tried Google extensively myself, as well as the public search option on iata.org.

Regards,

Hans
