wittmundhafen being closed?

I've heard a rumour about Wittmundhafen being closed after the F-4s have left. According tot the rumour the Typhoons that were to be based at Wittmund, will go somewhere else. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumour?

I don't think so. They juist built een new facility for the Eurofighter flight simulator en they are working hard on the infrastructure. It all has to do with the coming Eurofighter...

A big change is often also a chance to save big money....

Don't be fooled by building activities or similar activities. When you blink your eyes, the base may be closed. It happened before - a lot, actually.
