SEVILLA - A Eurofighter Typhoon Jet has crashed shortly after take off from the Moron Air Base just outside Sevilla in southern Spain killing the Saudi Pilot. The Spanish Defence Ministry announced that the training flight went down around 9.30am local time Tuesday morning for as yet unknown reasons and killed the pilot.
The Spanish flight instructor also onboard managed to eject from the jet fighter and sustained only minor injuries.
A full investigation is now underway to ascertain exactly what went wrong. The Saudi pilot was at the air force base to sign a deal on Spanish-Saudi cooperation, which will include training with the Eurofighter for Saudi pilots, the ministry added.
