Post by Le Addeur noir »

The 19 Alpha Jet As of 231 Sqn,Wing 23 at Udorn Thani RTAFB are due to be retired according to a news report on Thai TV channel 3.

These jets have seen less than 10 years service in the RTAF.Their procurement was clouded in corruption allegations and one jet was lost in a fatal accident in May 2002.

Their replacement has not been specified.

I am now informed that the Thai TV report on the RTAF Alpha Jets was in reference to the 10th anniversary of this type being in service with the Royal Thai Air Force and not the imminent retirement of the type.

So,the Thai Alpha Jets live on for now.
