Where is the BDR F-4 (63-7453) that was on soesterberg?

Post by sabk9 »

Does anyone know where the battle damage repair (BDR) F-4 (63-7453) went too after the Wolfhounds left Soesterberg AB?

Have a nice day,

The Scramble database says it was scrapped in Den Dolder.

In Den Dolder is an infamous scrapyard, where lots of aircraft have been scrapped in the past. Including many interesting ones like this Phantom....

Hof stand for Hofland.

In the past up to four F-16's (J-007, J-881, J-212 and J-214), many NF-5A's (K-3007, K-3008, K-3071 and a few more) a couplge of F-104, a single T-33 and this Phantom were scrapped there. Only the canopy remains in storage at the MLM, the rest was scrapped.

Have searched within some of my own old sightings, I have seen some remains (incl. part of the tail) of this Phantom at the scrapyard "Hoffland" in Den Dolder on 18-08-1995. So this F-4C does not exist anymore for over 15 years already!
Kind Regards / Groeten,
