Quite a few visitors or swaps today...
NOW 338 was a filed callsign, and I never saw 340 in the "expected list". So I thought 340 was kind of strange as well, but I heard it several times, also by the crew.joost wrote:never heard NOW340, did heard NOW338 depart Volkel (692), but I was inside hangar so not very good signals.. NOW338a,b,c taxied out at Leeuwarden, once airborne they were ordered by Rapcon to change their callsign into NOW340a,b,c because 338 was already airborne out of Volkel.Stephan Lodewijks wrote:NOW 338 was a filed callsign, and I never saw 340 in the "expected list". It's a photosession with the Skyvan! Skyvan 'GBEOL' is in a holding pattern 10 miles south of Volkel, and 'Esso 77' is descending underneath it at 5000 feet. Must be quite a sight from that Skyvan!Stephan Lodewijks wrote:KC-135R 'Esso 77' is inbound Volkel at this time for A/A photography... Requested via Dutchmil to launch the photo aircraft (F-16BM of G-BEOL????).
At around 1630LT both aircraft switched to Eindhoven Arrival as one formation; they had to make room for the mass recovery of the tiger meet. They proceeded for some maneuvring in Eindhoven airspace until 1555LT, after which they seperated. 'Esso 77' recovered into Eindhoven at 1605LT, and 'GBEOL' returned to Volkel at around 1615LT to offload some very happy photographers!Stephan Lodewijks wrote:It's a photosession with the Skyvan!
