Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Since Viktor Y. was elected President, Ukraine has turned fully towards Russia in sharp contrast to his predecessors pro NATO/EU policy. The Russians started training again at Saki and the contract with the Black Sea Fleet for using the Sevastopol harbour will be renewed. Since a large part of the Crimea is still restricted military area the warning of Alex seems more than appropriate. Excellent pics my friend, but if made without proper authorisation; amazingly STUPID !!!

OK, points have been made and warnings issued. Let's focus on the results again as this is the Photo Forum.

Thanks for the complements and concerns. :)

As I have been travelling to Russia and Ukraine for more than 15 years, I am confident that I am well aware of the risks. I guess that everybody has his/her own definition about "acceptabel risk", so there is no point in discussing about that. :)

I've added 3 pictures of the last Su24 landing with the sun going down at Gvardeskoye. The next Su24 came in after sunset and they continued flying until at least 22:30.

Nice "Tiger Hornets" ("tijger horzels"), but I guess photographing these was somewhat less risky/hazardous than the "Ruskis"...

But not less difficult if you know the situation around MCAS Beaufort. Even on base there is a double fence (with guard) around the flightline...

Yes taking these photos was less dangerous. The only danger is the traffic around Tokyo.
Photos were taken on a saturday morning by the way on Atsugi.
