The Hunters's last home

Post by Coldwater »

Rayak, Lebanese Air Force or Al-Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Lubnania base is the home of the last Hunters.
They are all in the 2° Squadron (1Hunter T66 L-286 and 3 F60 L-280-282-284)

Yes, I agree about the text in the images.

But I can imagine, why. Those are such exclusive photo's you don't want them ripped by someone else.

Very nice catches!!!

Best regards Rob.

 Not an often-reported-on Air Force, especially not when it concerns "flightline pictures"... :respect:

Wow, stunning!! I believe that one or two of those Hunters are ex Belgian AF.
Amazing that they are still in use!!! Can't believe those Swiss retired them so soon

Very, very nice set!! Hawker Hunters going strong in 2010....who could have dreamed... 8)

(The hangared single seat-Hunter has an unusual configuration with only outer-pylon tanks attached rather than the usual inner-pylon tanks...)

It is indeed amazing the Hunters survived all those "troubled times"...

Okay, these aircraft may out of necessity not have enjoyed the "Swiss maintenance and care treatment", but I see a future supply of "new" warbird Hunters to the airshow circuits in the coming years...

The Lebanese Air Force may want to keep this in mind when they do get the funds for more modern replacements!
