This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Great man, thanks! i enjoyed your report big time Jeffrey, so thanks for sharing! funny to see the waterplanes in Vancouver and Vancouver island, i have been there too, and i enjoyed them very much. I allso see you took the Zodiac to do some Orca spotting, great! I have seen them too, it was a rare oppurtunity, so i took it. And considering the reaction of the canadian guy who took you to the Apron to dos some citation spotting, you gotta love the Canadians, they are so friendly!jeffreyklm wrote:Fixed it!

I think the service of Icelandair is worse now compared to what it was ten years ago. I prefer complimentary meals on transatlantic flights.jeffreyklm wrote:I have flown Icelandair for the first time.. It was a VERY good (read: Almost my best) Experience with any airline.. The seating was very spacious (said by a guy of 1.85m sitting in economy class) And the crew was very nice (and pretty! ) as well!!
Did you make a scenic detour? Last year our flight from Amsterdam to Keflavik lasted 2:44 hours.jeffreyklm wrote:A view I will never get tired of.. Above the North Sea en route on the short 4 hour flight..!
Hundreds of miles from any city? Iceland is not that big!jeffreyklm wrote:One of the examples of planes appearing EVERYWHERE in Iceland... On a farmers field hundreds of miles from any city. A beautiful Cub sitting on a (self mowed) grass strip
1. Well, the service is very good nowadays in my opinion.. Oke, no complimentary meals. But you also pay a lot less for the tickets.United 777 wrote:Nice report, nice pictures.

Ah.. I think it is just what are your standards. I must say, I flew Singapore Airlines a couple of years ago, and it really disappointed me. Although SQ belongs to the best airlines worldwide. I didn't notice that, however... the service was very average. Especially when I compare it with my other long-haul flights.jeffreyklm wrote:1. Well, the service is very good nowadays in my opinion.. I don't get this part. Flights to Iceland are often more expensive than flights to North America via Iceland. Icelandair offers competitive fares from Europe to North America, but lacks competition on routes to Iceland. Air France/KLM and Lufthansa don't fly to Reykjavik. Hardly anyone does. On the other hand, approximately 300 EUR would buy you three return tickets Amsterdam - Madrid on KLM. Talk about a good price-quality ratio!Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:And like you said, Icelandair nowadays offers relatively low fares to Reykjavik. I checked out its website a couple of days ago as I'd like to visit Iceland myself. FI offers tickets for approximately 300 Euros! Iceland clearly distinguish itself (compared to competitors AF/KLM and LH for instance) with such a decent price-quality ratio.
I am not sure. It sounds ridiculous that a digital SLR breaks down after only 18 months.nustyR wrote:100.000 clicks is a very good score for a low budget cam
I just checked KLM.nl. They still fly there. However, Wikipedia (of course not the most reliable source) doesn't mention it anymore.United 777 wrote:I don't get this part. Yep, but I'm very used to fly KLM, Delta and Air France. Not the worst airlines.. But I really liked Icelandair.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:Ah.. I think it is just what are your standards. Then a totally different topic, you may P.M. me on this if you want to. I'm curious to what you have seen from Iceland, what do you think about the Icelandic's mentality and how did you experience the country?
Like Nusty said, it's a low budget camera, but I've also used it intensivly.. Lot's of photography from all kinds of subjects. 6 big hollidays and some airshows and some days of spotting. Wich really pushed it to the limit I guess.. But Canon repaired it without any costs for me, so I'm happy.United 777 wrote:I am not sure. KLM doesn't fly to Reykjavik. Icelandair is your only option on the Amsterdam - Reykjavik route. As long as I remember this has been the case. How did you check the KLM website?Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:I just checked KLM.nl. They still fly there.
I understand that you mean Reykjavik as the final destination. What I don't understand is what makes 300 EUR for a return ticket to Iceland such a good offer while Icelandair regularly offers flights to North America for 400 EUR or less. A much better price-quality ratio if you ask me.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:
Furthermore, I didn't mean Keflafik Airport as a stop-over destination but just as final destination, Iceland. I think KLM's service isn't (especially compared to the fares it offers most of the time) equal to Icelandair.
Completely true.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote: Overall, I think it is just your opinion whether you think a ticket is cheap or not.
Which makes the KLM fare even more attractive, I think. Much more daily rotations to choose from, hold luggage included in the price of the ticket, free sandwiches and drinks, airport staff to help you out with questions, etc.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:You talk about a ticket to Madrid, that's a total different destination in my opinion as there are also low cost airlines competing on this market.
Good for you. My non digital Canon 1000F from 1992 still functions perfectly. Back in those days 1,000 pictures a year (30 rolls of film) was quite a lot. Things sure have changed.jeffreyklm wrote:Like Nusty said, it's a low budget camera, but I've also used it intensivly..
