Three flights of German carrier Germanwings departing Berlin Schoenefeld (Germany), destinations unknown, were airborne when cabin crew noticed the water on board was contaminated with fuel.
As a result, no coffee or tea was served during those flights. All aircraft reached their destinations safely, the aircraft water tanks were cleaned after landing.
A large water tank at Schoenefeld Airport was found contaminated with kerosene, the cause of the contamination is under investigation.
Ground staff taking water from that storage tank to supply the aircraft did not notice the contamination.
