F-16 malfunctions at Aviano

An F-16 Fighting Falcon malfunctioned during a routine training mission Wednesday afternoon at Aviano Air Base, Italy.
The base says that the aircraft ran through the safety barrier at the end of the runway and came to a stop in the grass.
No injuries were reported. The F-16 suffered some damage, but it is too early to gauge the extent or the estimated cost, said base spokeswoman Tech. Sgt. Lindsey Maurice.
