Oh man, How I'd love to have those Russian jets around Schiphol..
Never seen them as I can remember. But I love the classics like the Tu-104..

I just got one picture, not very good quality..

1. Flightdeck during cruise from Gran Canaria to Amsterdam. Air Holland Boeing 727, PH-AHB. Taken by my father!

Your quality rocks! Absolutely amazing how those photo's from the '70s look so good!

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

BTW: happy valentines day!

B.99 N9995 of Air New England at Boston-Logan, March, 1975. The Beech 99 was a real workhorse for the commuter or "3rd level" airlines in New England in those days. It is widely used by the package transport industry in the area still. The only real competitor to the 99 in the pax market was the Twin Otter, though the two aircraft in my eyes always seemed impossible to compare.

Good evening,

This time a negative scan of a rather unfamiliar aircraft. It is a Douglas C-74 Globemaster 1. It is one of only 14 built shortly after the Second World War. It started life in the USAF as 42-65409 and left the Air Force in 1956. It went to Air Systems of Panama, registered HP-379. In the early sixties it flew cattle from Europe to the Middle East. Air Systems stopped flying after a crash of one of their other C-74s and HP-379 was abandoned in Milan and was later flown to Turin. I saw it there on 29th July, 1968. By that time it had been painted in CAAC colours to perform a role in the movie The Italian Job, which was released in 1969. It stayed at Turin airport on public display until it caught fire twice during 1970.

Kind regards,

Peter

Good evening,

At long last I am able to upload a negative scan again. This time it is a Vickers Viscount 724 G-BDRC of Intra Airways, taken at Glasgow airport on July 24th, 1976. I hope you like it.

Good evening,

Not the best quality, but hopefully of interest all the same. It is a slide scan of TC-JBZ, a Douglas DC-8-52 of Bursa Airlines, taken at Düsseldorf on June 27th, 1980.
