More F-15Js for Naha

Post by Le Addeur noir »

An article in the Japanese daily newspaper the Yomouri Shimbun for Friday,December 11 was of interest,

Ministry aims for big cut in GSDF tank numbers,

First paragraph,

The Defense Ministry unofficially decided Thursday to cut the number of tanks in the Ground Self Defense Force to about 400,a move that would allow more funds, personnel and equipment to be used in the defense of the Nansei Islands, which include all of the Okinawa Prefecture and most of the islands of Kagoshima Prefecture.

.....further into the article,

Specifically, the number of jet fighters at the Air Self Defense Force's Naha Base will be increased from 24 to 36 with improved F-15 fighters equipped to heighten their ability to scramble against violations of this nation's air space.

No timeframe was quoted for this move,or any indication of a second Hikotai(Squadron) being transferred or stood up.36 jets for one unit(305 Hikotai) seems a lot.
Drink treble
See double
Act single

and the Emir called up his jet fighters
