The data is predominently obtained from various sources on the net, the key sites being airlinerlist.com, russianplanes.net laas and Mike Murray's production list spreadsheets.
Whils I will provide updates, you are not restricted to the updates I provide, as instructions, methods and the functionality to be able to update the database yourself are provided. Also, if you want to use the updates I provide, you can still maintain your own user maintained database, for your own production lists. Both the data I provide, and the data you maintain yourself are combined within the logging database, also your log and photograph logs are also very well integrated with each other and both the supplied, and user maintained production lists.
The design of the database is still ongoing, and over the last few days I have added additional functionality, which has yet to be added to the userguide documentation.
There is a googledocs repository where all the relevant files can be downloaded from, there is also a sourceforge project homepage as well, but I recommend the googledocs repository, as it is easier to navigate.
Anyhow, I've droned on enough now, you can find all the details by clicking on the following link
