Lyneham's closure

Post by aviodromefriend »

At least one aircraft has already left Lyneham in preparation for the station's closure. http://www.swindonweb.com/?m=2&s=1603&s ... the%20move for a picture of one Hercules being transported on the M4. (anyone for the registration?)

According to the same site last week, repatriations of fallen soldiers in Afghanistan will land in the UK at Brize from September 2011 onwards.

Second aircraft has left yesterday, that is January 16. (Pics look quite impressive, about not having damaged anything)http://www.swindonweb.com/?m=2&s=1603&s ... an+Effort!

For who is interested in what can happen to this base: if the Army doesn't want to move in.

BTW: The Vulcan has already left for Robin Hood, ex RAF Finningley.
