Kadena deployments

It was announced today(7th January) that the 18th Wing at Kadena AB will host a 4 month long deployment of F-22A Raptor from the 525th Fighter Squadron from next week.

Also Kadena will host a detachment of F-16 from the 18th AGRS based in Alaska until mid-February.The arrival date for the arrival of this unit was not disclosed.

So those going to Naha show on the 23rd January will have some extra airplanes to look for.

From a Japanese source,the implimentation of these deployments is not proceeding to plan,

Details so far,

10th January,

Bora 91 KC-10A into RODN serial unocnfirmed,but selcal reported as GJ-AQ (serial) ?
Bora 91 KC-135R (59-1448) into RODN

These 2 tankers brought 4 Raptors.

16th January,

Bora 72 KC-10A 79-1951 60th AMW
Bora 71 KC-10A 84-0192 305th AMW

These tankers brought a further 4 Raptors.

7 more Raptors were due today but are believed to be delayed 24 hours.

The 18th AGRS F-16s should arrive next weekend.
