Who says they will not announce paxflights to AMS later on?FARO wrote:Another member, but they not speak about Amsterdam as an HUB, so there are no passengerflight from

They already serve CDG, a little chance to see the pax flights here I would say.Gietje wrote:Who says they will not announce paxflights to AMS later on?FARO wrote:Another member, but they not speak about Amsterdam as an HUB, so there are no passengerflight from

Hmm, why would Saudi not come to AMS, but MEA will? MEA also serves CDG. In other words, I don´t follow your logic. Not all Skyteam members fly to Amsterdam and not all will in the future. It all depends on connection opportunities, pax numbers and costs of course.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:According to Luchtvaartnieuws also MEA - Middle East Airlines will join the Skyteam alliance in 2012!
As MEA serves Brussel instead of Amsterdam, they probably drop that route and continue from Amsterdam...?

I agree with you completely, but it would be nice if all SkyTeam members flew to AMSehusmann wrote:Hmm, why would Saudi not come to AMS, but MEA will? MEA also serves CDG. No, I think you misunderstood me or I haven't explained it properly..ehusmann wrote:Hmm, why would Saudi not come to AMS, but MEA will? MEA also serves CDG. In other words, I don´t follow your logic. Neither am I an expert. For MEA I do not see a particular advantage to fly to Amsterdam instead of Brussels. They can connect well through CDG to the rest of Skyteam, so they do not need AMS for that. They are already flying to BRU, so apparantly they find the passengers there.Boudewijn van Oirschot wrote:No, I think you misunderstood me or I haven't explained it properly..ehusmann wrote:Hmm, why would Saudi not come to AMS, but MEA will? What I meant to say is, Saudi has no pax flights to Brussels. They used to fly (probably still fly) cargo in there, but now they opened their cargo flight to Amsterdam as well.. but let's disregard the fact why. In addition, MEA has 3x (perhaps upgraded already) weekly pax flights to Brussels AND to even more Charles de Gaulle.
Seen the fact that Brussels is a Star Alliance-hub and Amsterdam a Skyteam-hub, there might be a chance that they (read: MEA) rack their flights to Amsterdam.. It's just basically that it wouldn't be too unthinkable if it may happen.
Let me admit that I am not the expert but a planespotter
Why not. Ukraine could become a large market (if it isn´t already). Close proximity to other Skyteam members does not have to mean it is unlikely. Just look at the StarAlliance partners in Europe (SAS, Lufthansa, LOT, Swiss, Austrian, Brussels).Martijn... wrote:And Ukraine International joins Skyteam in the future? Is that possible? They already have Tarom, CSA and Aeroflot.
