Tonight, episode 3 of "Airline Repo" was aired on Discovery Channel in The Netherlands. It featured the repossession of two Airbus A320-212's. Both aircraft were operated by Hellas Jet on lease from Wells Fargo Bank, USA. MSN87/SX-BVL was seized and ferried from Chateauroux, France to the Acores, where it was reregistered N5015G and then flown to the US; sister ship MSN88/SX-BVK was seized from Istanbul-Atatürk Airport, Turkey and also ended up on the Acores for re-registration as N9070N and then ferried to the US. Both aircraft ended up in Gary, Indiana, but I don't know if they are actually still there; according to the FAA-websites both N-registrations are still current for these frames with Wells Fargo bank as owner. This all happened during March, 2010. It was an interesting, if somewhat hyped, episode. I for one had -up to now- failed to notice that HellasJet had gone out of business.
