"Dear visitors,
Allow me to inform you that in the course of 28 and 29 May 2011, Airshow Trenčín 2011 will take place, and I would like to kindly invite you to this great event.

This aviation happening is prepared in the honour and memory of distinguished personalities of Slovak aviation such as:

* Ján Bahýľ - an aircraft design engineer and inventor of a helicopter,
* Aurel Stodola - an inventor of steam and gas turbine theory,
* Eugene Andrew Cernan - an astronaut,
* Jozef Murgaš - a contributor to wireless telegraphy,
* Štefan Banič - an inventor who devised a military parachute,
* Ján Andrej Segner - a father of turbine,
* Ivan Bella - an astronaut,
* Andrej Kvasz - a pioneer of aviation in Slovakia and first organizer of an airshow in Slovakia,
* Dr. M. R. Štefánik - a pilot and meteorologist
* Otto Smik - he most successful Slovak fighter in RAF,
* Ivan Alexander Getting - GPS and rocket engine deviser.

The main organizers and a patron of the Airshow Trenčín 2011 is Aviatik Team s.r.o. and The Slovak Aviation Association of General Dr. M. R. Štefánik. Honorary director of Airshow Trenčín 2011 is Colonel Prof. Ing. Miroslav Grega, PhD. - president of The Slovak Aviation Association of General Dr. M. R. Štefánik.

Our mission is to pay tribute and draw attention of a wide public to distunguished personalities of Slovak origin who significantly contributed to aviation development. We wish to introduce you domestic and foreign historic, military and civil aeroplanes both in the air and on the ground flown by the best of the best pilots.
Last but not least, let me assure you that organizers and participants of the Airshow Trenčín will do their best for you to spend a pleasant day with many impressive memories from the unique event of the Airshow Trenčín.

Do you know if this Airshow has replaced the Piestany show?

It is true, that this airshow will be organised by a company which contributed to the organisation of Piestany, but that doesnt mean that this airshow will replace Piestany. As far as I know Ministry of Defence of Slovakia is now looking for organiser of National Air Days, because in the previous years the contract to organise the airshow was sent directly to one company. This year, new minister wants to give the chance to another companies, too (and maybe pick the cheapest one).

Due to failed negotations with financial partner, without the necessary financial cover, the organiser of this airshow has decided to put off this airshow. The new date of this airshow is 2. - 3. June 2012 and therefore Trencin Airshow will be not held this year.
