Narrative:
At around 17:30 LT, a Super Tucano aircraft of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) presented problems forcing the pilot, First Lieutenant Marcelino Aparecido Feitosa, using the eject mechanism to leave the plane.
The plane crashed near the runway at Porto Velho Airport, Rondonia State.

Both FAB 5706 and FAB 5935 were written off on 04 April 2007 in bad weather, could not reach an airfield in time after being diverted.

Accoding to an editor of a Brazilian magazine, a local news paper in the crash region near Porto Velho noted that the aircraft was hit by gun fire from the ground as it was passing through a region that is active by drug runners. The Brazilian AF remains silent.
