If there 's anyone knowing these and willing to share I think we will see the serials here...
Since this is info about ongoing live operations one would think people are a bit carefull so no need to ask IMHO.

There's always a reason for everything, and most commonly it's one's own interest that is the reason for doing something. But what is your point? I guess in this case it may not be the oil that makes this mess an important one, but the fact that it happens in our back garden and could cause effect on our own surroundings. The civil war in other parts of the world effect us less, and therefore there's not so much urge to get into action.K-9 wrote:Well... looking at all these posts / information.
I must say, it seems a big ( censored ).... If libya didn't have oil etc, would "we" have acted the same ? Apparently, country's that have interesting goods for the western world, see fast action.
But what about the other country's, on the same continent, where there is civil war ....
If we don't take these actions, that would be the perfect reason to cut back even more. Why keep a military if we ain't gonna use it anyway?K-9 wrote:These actions will place even more pressure on defense organisations. Organisations that have been hit hard due to budget cuts. And what more cuts will be made after these mil.actions ?
1. Because they could get into some loyalty conflict more easily then we do.K-9 wrote:Let the arabian world ( Quatar, Saudia etc. ) leed this war, why always the west...
Now we're getting there... and who was complaining about one's own interest? This seems to be the least of the worlds problems (even though I too want to see as many planes as possible on an airshow, but operational requirements are the best reason for an air force not to show up).K-9 wrote:Hopefully there won't be to much "partycrashers" for the upcoming exercises and airshows.
And exactly why do think Australian spotters will see any more planes then they're used to?? I don't get that one.K-9 wrote:and yes ( ) i'm aware of the spotters down under, that can see some nice hardware....
You must have some US blood in your vains..... Then they (US) should directly attack Bahrain, Jemen and Saudi Arabia to help those people who wanna live in a democracy..... but.... no way. Where was Obama when many people were shot during demonstrations in Syria? Or Jemen?Thermal wrote:Why always the West? because we need the oil. Simple as that.
Oh and fighter aircraft are for fighting wars and not for airshows.

Libya provides just two percent of the worlds oil. So yes! Let's start a war over it! That'll be quite something when oil gets even more scarce.Thermal wrote:

This is a very smart remark. Israel is protected by the US because they own the US Dollar (Jewish bankers do). So what about Isreal (and the 'peace and stability' in de Middle East) when the US looses influence? In this respect it is interesting to have seen the BRIC countries didn't vote, but also didn't veto (R/C at least) India is already complaining about the level of military force.Propwash wrote:Side effect: The Israelian lobby became less powerfull and the Palestinians might finally reclaim their 'occupied' land.
The OPEC wanna be paid in their own 'futured' currency also.Flyboy wrote:to be continued...
No what I meant was; to think that the current actions over Lybia might endanger the appearances at airshows this season is getting your priorities wrong. Governments don't buy fighterplanes only to look cool and attend airshows. There primary function is to be used as a weapon in times of war. It's a hard truth.Ridiculous argument.... Guns are for violence, so let's use them?
To say that only 2% of the oil comes from Lybia and therefor we don't need it would be naieve. Libya is a very attractive oil area because the costs of production are/were low. Sometimes $1 per barrel. And because it is very close to Europe the transportation costs are very low. So it may not be much, but it is cheap oil.Libya provides just two percent of the worlds oil. So yes! Let's start a war over it! That'll be quite something when oil gets even more scarce.
Why would they? There is nothing there for them. You never start a war unless you can get something out of it. Only George W. Bush never got that memo.If the US has real guts, they attack tomorrow Iran, Syria and North Correa
