Same here. I recently bought a new HP netbook for less than 200 euro (during BTW-terug weekend at BCC). It is not as fast as a normal pc or laptop but fast enough for normal internet (browsing, mail) and downloading and selecting images. The software I use is Downloader Pro and Breezebrowser Pro (which works very fast with my Canon RAW images!).EHAM wrote:Totally agree with Patrick/Squadmin.
The netbook has a 250GB drive and I have kept 200GB free for images. On trips I download the images from CF cards every evening to the netbook. Then I delete images which I think are not good enough. After that I make a backup to a small portable 250GB USB harddisk. Just to be safe. I don't want all images from a trip on just one netbook drive. The risk of damage, error or theft is too great. So I make sure I always have a backup which I keep in my pocket (or at least not in the same place as the netbook) during travel.
