Hello again,
time for part 2 of my 1997 pictures. All in all, I scanned more than 300 pictures from 1997, so these two topics are just an impression. Now I'm going to start with 1998, which was a great year photo-wise.
But first, some pics from the second half of 1997.
1. The day after the Paris Air Show was spend at Charles de Gaulle. Singapore was flying the daily flight with the good looking A340-300:
2. Star Europe was a French charter airline:
3. Royal also operated A310's, next to their L1011's:
4. Air Afrique was still around in those green colored Airbusses, like this A310:
5. Belair Ile de France was a short-lived charter company, operating the B727:
6. USAir was still the name for what is now USAirways:
7. Air India could be seen daily, here with a B747-300:
8. Avianca was also still operating to CDG:
9. British Airways was route-proving their new B777's, so this was a nice surprise:
10. Delta also had those great looking MD-11's back in those days:
11. TWA still existed:
12. And Continental had these great classics in their fleet:
13. British Midland also flew with Fokker 100's, which looked quite nice in my opinion:
14. Air Jet was another small French company:
15. And Jersey European was a big time operator at CDG, flying for Air France:
16. In 1997 British Airways introduced their new colorscheme, the World Tails. This DHC-8 was my first one I catched:
17. Summer was spent in Hungary (again). Not seen much new, but this An-2 at Esztergom was nice:
18. As was catching this great TU-154 from Malev at Budapest:
19. Also nice at Budaörs was this An-2 of Air Church:
20. South African still had passengerflights to Schiphol, using those great B747SP's:
21. Transavia leased this BAe146 from Flightline (sorry for the sign!):
22. And my first photographed BA World Tail at Schiphol was on this B757:
23. Also in 1997, South African introduced a new image as can be seen on this brand new looking B747SP:
24. Just a nice catch on the Kaagbaan was this B727:
25. This Martinair B767 was returning home after it's lease to Virgin:
26. Air Moldova was a new airline at Schiphol, using the Yak-42:
27. Air Alfa also introduced a new livery:
28. As did British Midland:
29. A nice charter was this Air One:
30. Trans Brasil was a new regular and exotic airline to be seen at Schiphol:
31. Istanbul could also still be seen:
32. BMI leased this great looking Saab 340's:
33. In October a visit was paid to Kleine Brogel, where a special spottersday was held because of a TDY of Italian AF F-104's:

35.:
36. In December I also went to Brussels, which was cold, but resulted in two nice TU-154, one from Aviaenergo:
37. And this one from Air Ukraine:
38. Also photographed was this great looking MD-11 of Belgian charter airline CityBird:
39. The year ended with this mishap of this Transavia B757 on the Zwanenburgbaan:
40. And on the 29th of December the hightlight of the year came dropping out of the sky, a Liberian Yak 40:
Well, that's all folks! All pictures were scanned from paper-print. I will return with a 1998 post, of course.
Cheers!
