Piaggio P166 DL3/APH MM25157

Now this Piaggio is a relic but on 4 July 2004 at Pratica di Mare a reunion was held for former personnel of the 71° Gruppo (14°Stormo) to celebrate the 20.000 flyng hours figure reached by six P.166DL3/APH (the photo mapping version) assigned to the unit. The "Black Sheeps"( as the DL3 crews took to calling themselves) created a display programme with formation flypasts of the base led by a "Flamingo" (the unofficial nikname of the Piaggio twin) decorated with an aggressive sharkmouth an the number of more than 20.000 hours.
So decorated the aircraft was made a debut appearance as a partecipant in the RIAT held at Faiford 2004. The photos were taken on 12 July off the Lazio coastline. Sorry for the not nice scan resolution from a K6 slide
