What I find very interesting to read is that all "media" are continuing to use the word: "Terminator" when they speak about F-4E 2020s. I wonder why? Is it just because everybody is just copying each other without by fact knowing what they talk about.
The true story on the name for the F-4E 2020s "Terminators" is derived from the first school unit that was established when the first upgraded 2020s arrived from Israel some 11 years ago. This temporary unit was called Terminator "Kita". Kita is a name which is returning throughout the history of the TuAF when a new aircraft type enters their air force. When this school is terminated, the name connected will disappear and the aircraft with then enter in their regular unit. In the case of the F-4E 2020s, to; 111 Filo "Panter" , 172 Filo " Korsar" and 132 Filo "Hançer". The F-4E 2020 is still called: "Phantom".
I do admit that "Terminator" is a very nice name but I think all of us try to be fact full as I do too. Who knows, this will clear-up the sage and/or will trigger a follow-up from people who think to know otherwise.
