After arrival at Sao Paulo-Guarulhos, took the Airport Bus Service to Congonhas. Ticketoffice can be found at the arrival hall, busstop is 20 meters further. Between 0600-2300lt every 30min a bus is leaving for Congonhas. Fare is 33 real (around 15 euro) one way. Normally it will take 30-45 minutes for this journey, but in peak hours this can go up..
Had a booking in the wellknown Ibis-hotel at Congonhas. After arrival with the bus (or aircraft) find the coffeecorner/shops in the arrival hall. It is located near the stairs to departures and when you go out, at the right hand side is a footbridge that crosses the very busy road and leads you towards the Ibis. Entrance of the Ibis is at the back.
I asked for a room facing the airport and was given room 960. All rooms that end on 52/54/56/58/60/62 are having very good views but only at 9-13th floor. All these rooms have a double bed by the way so keep that in mind when you want to share a room..
Even when it is dark (1800lt it is this time of the year..) there is no problem to read off taxiing aircraft, enough light to see the registrations. They all taxi in front of the hotel. Congonhas has 2 parallel runways. The shortest (17L/35R) is used by bizjets that park at the FBO's on the east side. Overhere 5 hangars can be seen with about 20-25 bizjets inside and outside. The other runway is used by all other traffic and bizjets that park at the FBO's near the south side. Overhere 4 hangars with 60-80 bizjets..
Airport has a night restriction between 2300-0600lt.
