REQ: Spotting in Berlin area

Post by Copter »

I am planning a weekend trip to Berlin. I am looking for interesting spotting locations (airfields, museums, heliports etc.) in the Berlin area. Off course I found some info about the well known airports, but if anyone knows some other interesting locations, I like to hear it :D

Maybe someone can recommend a hotel in the Berlin area ?

Just some questions:

Alliertenmusem Berlin:
Is the Huey still present at this museum ?

Berlin-Tempelhof (closed):
Are there still some aircraft preserved at this closed airport ?

Many thanks in advance.

At Tempelhof there was nothing when I went there last year. Although it's worth going there, as it's an impressive building, designed by Albert Speer.

I did not go to the Allierten museum, so with that I can't help.

regards,

Michel

North and south of berlin are some museums on old airports, and laage is only one hour away, without speed limit.

At the Bundeswehr krankenhaus you can easily spot an ADAC rescue helicopter. It's usually at the heli pad. The heli pad is easily accesible by foot click here

Berlin Gatow museum is nice too, lots of preserved planes.
