In the framework of the European Defence Agency initiatives aimed at creating an operational support coordinated use of Army helicopters as a reference point for the annual meeting, held the same exercise "Italian Call 2011" which and 'took place in the airspace referred to as R53 in the province of Viterbo( middle Italy/Lazio Region) in the range of Monte Romano.

Crews were able to familiarize themselves with scenes set in Afghanistan flying with the A129 Mangusta helicopter mission simulator supplied with the Army Aviation Training Centre.
The exercise involved the Italian Call conducting more than 600 flight hours, with the operation of an average of 50 daily missions with a consumption of about 450,000 liters of fuel Avio, or about 20,000 gallons of automotive fuel.
The European Programme (European Helicopter Training Program) was approved by Defence Ministers meeting in November 2009 with the aim to increase within a reasonable time, the ability to manage aircraft operations and operations with the help of helicopters in crisis areas.
