Just on the Polish TV: N54CE ditched in the Vistula river during airshow in Plock, Poland. The Christen Eagle II was flown by the experienced pilot Marek Szufa, a Boeing 767 pilot of LOT. See http://www.marekszufa.com
The fate of the pilot is not known yet according Polish TV.
eye witnesses say he was under water for 20 minuites before rescue workers found the wreck/his body. After this a nother 10 minuites was spent defibrilating him trying to get his heart going.
He is said to be alive, but reports on this are confusing and even on tv changing all the time. He has been taken to hospital, but by ambulance. Signs of life were to week/absent which created the situation in which the trauma helicopter did not want to take him (? this is what I can understand from it, but it is in Polish and few words are used I am not familliar with)
Last what I heard is that he is alive, but very badly injured. After being underwater for 20 minuites and then under the defibrilator for such a long time it would be a wonder if he survives this.
Mark Szufa is a very famous figure in Polish aviation, he has several historical planes aswell which he flies outside the one that crashed today, and as you said he is a pilot on boeing 767.
Very tragic day at Płock air Picknick
