Damm, I never knew I the thing I did is called the Frank Noort wayThe guy becoming famous for such disastrous shots is named Frank Noort so that is why the name.
Thank you, then i think i need to go to Alaska!Copter wrote:Hi Erica,
Good start !
Heatwaves is something you can't get rid of (unless you go to Alaska in the winter).
One tip: why not placing your name on each photo instead of Pino ??
Thanks for the tip, but how do i do that?PH-BRAD wrote:Try a lower shutterspeedEricaPKB wrote: How do i get rotors spinning, don't now how you call it? Any help?

Thanks Frank, hope you enjoyed Turkey as much as I did.... Yes i have Elmo and Ernie too, there irritating sometimes!Frank wrote:Hi Erica.
Thats nice, I was in Turkey at the same time, with some friends. Were you joined by Elmo and Ernie in the plane? I never seen so many antisocial people in my life. Not you, the people in front of us. Especially the one with the golden neckless with her name on it.
I am of course glad to help. The heli shot (where was that taken by the way? ) is what they call a typical FrankNoort-plaat as in professional terms. That means that you used a too high shutter speed, like 1/800, 1/1500 or maybe even higher. You might want to try taking pictures with 1/160 or lower. The guy becoming famous for such disastrous shots is named Frank Noort so that is why the name.
Also, you might want to try to take pictures with he sun in your back. If the people at your location let you of course.
Good luck and see hi to your red friends from us. (you know, the noisy people sitting next to you)
Frank
Thanks CJ, i'll try to remember that! My camera is a Canon EOS60D does that one goes below 450?Alfakilo 03 wrote:Dear Eric a,
I am very proud of people who try to do their best, your work is a start! Please take-up my suggestion not to get your nose up too high when your photography does improve. I love the Cougar but those rotor blades? I am not sure, but do camera manufactures sell cameras that go below 1/450 of shutter speed?
Keep up the good work!
CJ.
Thank you for the compliment, but I didn't do anything with those pictures, i only have a program that convert them from raw to jpg, someone told me that i always should use raw, is this not correct?Flyboy wrote:Remarkably how a first timer can get planes centered, pictures cropped and photoshopped. I think Erica deserves a compliment as most of us didn't do that the first time.
While your at it (Photoshop) try the 'auto' button for levels or curves. That may solve some...
BTW: why Pino?
Succes, Marc
You can look that up in the manual of your Canon. Simply set the camera on Tv mode and then you can adjust shutterspeed. Thanks for the tip, but how do i do that?
Don't know the exact cause of the darkness, my guess is a high shutter speed. The heatwaves are probably generated by a APU of an aircraft that was parked there. To avoid that is to wait untill the taxiing aircraft is further away from the parked oneWhy this so dark and how get rid of heatdinges?
Your EOS60D definitely goes below 1/450ste shutterspeed. Lowest is 30 secs and highest is 1/8000st sec.My camera is a Canon EOS60D does that one goes below 450?
