Travis AFB (KSUU/SUU) - 2011 MIL

Post by Trabanti »

Req: Travis from outside

Anyone any experience with this base? I am into pics, don't care about serials. The Zaragoza-style lay-out make it even more difficult I guess, but how about the corner of Creed Rd and Branscombe Rd? The northeast side seems inaccessible..

Thanks in advance!

Creed Rd is a good spot (and i think the only one) these were taken there early morning with 235mm and 320mm.

Yes i did visit the museum once, that was back in '96, a lot has changed since! We tried again in 2009 (when these photos were taken btw) but it was closed on the day we were there.

I believe access is very limited these days, maybe you should contact them in advance.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi Bart,

access is indeed limited.
only with a (military) sponsor you can visit the museum.
It is best to request a sponsor beforehand.
You could also try on the day itself at the maingate, but then you are depending on the availability of staff at that moment.

Should you be able to visit the museum, also from the museum area you can see some of the action...

and on your way in / out of the base you might get the change (depending on the willingness of the sponsor) to see some of the preserved aircraft on base.

have fun !!!
