From Thursday noon, till monday noon, no AMC a/c are allowed to land, according to NOTAM. So gues no amc on the friday.
Indeed might see some locals that day

I believe last year brought some AMC movements, a few locals ( some are on tdy at this time ) and arrivals for the show.
Planning to go there myself 2 days, of hunting...
And from what i've heard from Spangdahlem Ab pr-officer, only Mig-21 Romania and F-15 USAFE are tentative.
Bulgarian Mig-29 still a "go"....

Access was through the gate near the new(ish) AMC platform. The main gate was not in use for the airshow visitors. And that's where all the preserved aircraft were obviously.
If you think the Open House 3 years ago was not spectacular you should stay at home, I had a great time and I am going again for sure!!!
Just my thought....
Well, let's face it... This is not an event where you shoot lots of GB's or fill up a notebook with serials, but these kind of smaller events have their charm, too... It's what Atilla says: only a couple of airplanes, but lots of hotdogs and burgers!!
I was planning on going saterday with my family, no i read the newspaper that it is going to be "black saturday".
This means it will be busy on the roads throughout europe.
What will be the best route to take from Utrecht (NL) to Spangdahlem (DE) considering the expected traffic jams.
Love to hear your responeses.
Just follow your navigation. Black saturday is not so bad in this area. Traffic jams are expected in France, and in Germany, but only south of Frankfurt, mainly on the roads to / through Austria.
best way from Nederland is via Maastricht, direction Luik.
take direction Aachen : watch out for the 'belgium roadsigns / construction' at that point.
Still don't know how they could have built something like that.....
Then on to Verviers (be careful for the new speedcamera in the 'middenberm' at the 100 km/h-bit)
St. Vith and then just stay on the road until exit Spang.
Wish I could go to my 'homebase' myself, but I will be enjoying the Texas sun....
