Czech Trainers Air-to-Air

First of all let me say it's been a while before I could publish these photos (due to some publications). In June 2010 I had the opportunity to take some in-flight photos of the aircraft and helicopters flown by CLV, the company that provides flight training for the Czech Armed Forces.

CLV operates six aircraft types: the EV-97 (only used by instructor pilots), L-39C Albatros (jet pilot training), L-410UVP Turbolet (multi-engine training), Mi-2 Hoplite (rotary flying training), Mi-17 (for future Mi-17/24/35 pilots) and Z-142C-AF (basic flying training). Noteworthy is the fact that all four fixed-wing aircraft types are built in the Czech Republic (by four different manufacturers!). Unfortunately only one Mi-17 was available and it was our photoship, so no pics of the 'Hippo'.

Apologies for the boring head-on shots.. :wink:

Nice ... like the Eurostar for its perspective and the two L-39 for their relative low level angle and scenery. 8)

Is there no possibility to make side-ons from a Mi-17? Would have been better for the Mi-2 and L-410 ...

Of course it is possible, but for several reasons we decided to stick with the rear ramp. First of all CLV personnel were filming and photographing as well. Our only option not to stand in the way (or stand behind them), was to sit on the cargo ramp. It is possible to get side-on shots from the ramp, since the door can be completely removed and left on the ground. I do have some side-ons from this position, but the weather was terrible and I think they don't look as as the shots without any sky in them.

Thanks for the clarification. I did not get the impression from the pictures that you were hindered by others and the weather was that bad. Good work !!!
