During our holiday from June 26 till July 10 in Andalucía, Spain I was able to spot some aircraft too. We arranged our own fly drive starting in Malaga.

Flew Amsterdam – Malaga on board of EC-LLM, an A320 of Vueling
On arrival a number of planes was spotted before picking up our rental car, a nice Mercedes B180 where we booked for a Citroen C4. With this car we drove to Antequera to stay for the night

From Antequera we drove to Conil de la Frontera via Ronda. Near Ronda several KC135 where seen flying, likely to or from Moron de la Frontera. Unfortunately this base was not close to our routing so no visit was made.

From our temporary home in Conil de la Frontera we planned to visit the Rock also known as Gibraltar. Made one mistake today. Forgot to take with me, my 70-300mm lens, where just this day, I needed this lens the most…… On the airport of Gibraltar an Easyjet A319 and an British Airways A320 where seen (sorry I did not bother to write these down). In the harbor of Gibraltar the HMS Argus (A135) could be found with 2 Merlins on deck. Although we had a nice unobstructed view from the rock, I did not have the right lens with me, so these two kept unread. I anyone could help me out with these two, your help is welcome.

This wasn’t all for today on our way back we decided to get off the highway and follow a nice road along the coastline. Between Zahara de los Atunes and Barbate this road crosses a military zone. From this road we noticed a military ship some miles from the coastline with a helicopter deck on the back. Not less than 4 helicopters could be seen on deck. Back home I found out this ship is the LPD19, the USS Mesa Verde. The 4 helicopters on deck turned out to be 3 US Marines AH1Ws and a US Marines UH1N, there should be a fifth helicopter (another UH1N) but this one was not on board as further on along the road there turned out to be a military camp with next to the camp a helo platform where the missing UH1N was found. Too far from the road to identify, not allowed to get closer to get a picture with my 18-50mm lens, so I only got the code of the UH1N. From photo’s of the exercise these US Marines were involved in I was able to get the code of the second UH1N. Any help on the missing numbers is highly appreciated.

There was also found a derelict Do27 near the terminal. No outside registration can be found. According the well known books this should be EC-CDO.
When parking our car in garage in the city center, we noticed a DC7 nearby. The DC7 wears some titles to promote the Cordoba as candidate city for European capital of culture in 2016. It can be found near the Calle del compositor Rafael Castro next to the River. As it is located on a small hill it cannot be missed. A little search on the internet revealed it should be EC-GGC .
After passing two more days at Cordoba we moved on to Granada, to visit the Alhambra. From Granada we moved on to our final stop Malaga but not before having paid a visit to the International airport of Granada.

In Malaga we spent our last days before heading home. On July 8 we had some time left in our program and headed for the airport where we spent 1,5 hours along the fence. More business jets where seen but these were unreadable due to the heat waves/parking position

During take-off a second DH104 was seen at the museum. According the books this one is marked as PH-VLA in Martinair Charter c/s and is actually N9888A.
I hope someone can help me with the gaps, although some gaps are a long shot.
