Musee Aeronautique d'Orange visit August 2011

Post by Gietje »

Hi guys,

I visited the Museum at Orange on the 3rd of August. Here's a list of what I saw during my very quick visit.

520/5-OS Mirage 2000B
55 Breguet 1050 Alizé
188 SA-321GV ex Iraq
37 Étendard IVM
91/316-DM MS760 (according to EMOOS 2011 this one is coded 314-DM, but coded 316-DM now)
5/44CA MH1521M Broussard
J-4063 Hunter F58
(MM6283)/2-23 G-91R/1 (only saw the code, serial from EMOOS)
0906 MiG-21F-13
53/5-OF Super Mystère B2
508 Mirage 3E fuselage
28/5-NT Mystère
BA 43 Mirage 5BA
358 Vautour 2N
8 F-8P Crusader
12 CM175 Zéphyr Marine fuselage (listed in EMOOS 2011 as being at Cuers, so probably new addition)
495/3-XL Mirage 3E
526/13-QU Mirage 3E (very weathered aircraft, very hard to make out a serial)
241/DK Mirage 3B-RV (also carrying FR on its nosewheel door)
J-1183 Vampire FB6
U-1227 Vampire T55
222/13-FF Mirage 3B
363/33-TL Mirage 3RD (did not see its code, but since the cockpit and part of the front fuselage was covered with a sheet, it might be under there)
4406 MiG-21PFM

Also saw a Mirage with "EPNER 1946" special colors. I presume that is 231? I only have pictures of the left side of the aircraft, can't remember what the right side looks like.
Also saw a Magister, but didn't take the picture from the right angle to make out a serial. It probably is 409.
Also saw the another Super Frelon, but it was stored in between a hangar and a fence in the back, so could not read a serial. Probably is 186.
There also was an aircraft inside a maintenance hanger, could have been the Etendard.
No sign of the former KLu A-267 and 52/10-LF Mystère 2C anywhere, the Mystère might still be inside the maintenance hangar.
Cheers,
Gideon
