It might be worth mentioning that their "old serials" do not really apply to us as spotters.
Only the transmission and other internal parts are used in the "conversion", which uses a newbuild fuselage - the old fuselage is scrapped.
As far as we are concerned they are new aircraft.

Did the MH-47E Special Forces version of the Chinook also receive new fusalages?.

No, I believe they retained the old CH-47D fuselage.
