A new Texas based company started by two former Bell Helicopter engineers has been shortlisted along with Boeing, Sikorsky and Bell to complete a study into a new rotorcraft design to replace both the Blackhawk and Apache.
In 2014 two of the companies will be selected to build prototype demostrators.
The AVX design certainly has an interesting look to it (see picture in article), and incorporates a number of design features that AVX are using for their Kiowa Warrior upgrade proposal.
