I am feeling the same, but on the other hand I realize people also had this feeling when autofocus, image stabilization, digital camera's etc were introduced..EHAM wrote:It might soon be time to look out for another hobby...
Photography is about creating, whereas cars, televisions and smartphones are not.... 'Updating' creativity could mean that you take out the creative aspect and replace it with something that resembles exact science; just punch in the right numbers and there's your result. Or in other words; kids play.Polleke_NL wrote:Well, it's my goal to make crisp pictures to start off with, but having said that, what's wrong with a picture that can be enhanced, after all, most of us run our pictures through Photoshop or similar programs anyway to sharpen or process them, not to mention the HDR options...
Why is it we allow numerous updates and enhancements on our cars, televisions, smartphones before they are perfect, but not on our pictures.
No one cares if you made 2 crisp pictures, or 1000 as we will most likely only see the crisp ones so what's the big deal, what is there to prove?
And face it, taking pictures af fast moving aircraft, or catching the dynamics of a rotating propellor or rotor isn't the easiest thing to do and haven't we all faced one or more occasions where the picture composition was exactly what we wanted, not to say perfect, but the picture turned out blurred? What's wrong with creating your own perfect picture using such an incredible tool?
IMHO if you don't enhance your pictures, that's great, if you do, that's also great, if you don't like the possibility of digitally enhacing pictures and are afraid you might get tempted to do it yourself, roll back to analogue photography.
We all live our hobby in our won way, what you think is the best picture, I might consider total ==censored==, and visa versa, but I personally would very much welcome this feature
