Boeing Delivers 12th and final C-40A Clipper to the US Navy

Boeing announced on October 25 that it has completed delivery of 12 C-40A Clipper troop and cargo transport aircraft to the US Navy.

Boeing announced on October 25 that it had delivered the 12th and final C-40A Clipper aircraft, 166696, to the US Navy on October 21. As with the previous examples, the C-40A, a derivative of the commercial Boeing 737-700 airliner, was modified at the company's Wichita facility in Kansas for troop and cargo transport missions.

Although not ordered,the long-term goal was that all 27 USN C-9B(and the 2 USMC examples) would be replaced by the Clipper.

Further orders are in prospect for this type.
