Log: Heli log Loures (Portugal)

Post by ehusmann »

I am spending my time again in Loures (suburb of Lisbon) and helicopters overfly our house here regularly. So far I wasn't able to read much this time, but today (5 August 2011) I finally got the yellow Bell:
EC-KTR	AB.412EP	INEM titles
If past experiences hold any thruth I will be seeing more and will post them here.

It has been rather quiet with choppers lately, but today (23 October) one finally passed over again. And it was a nicer one:
CS-HMO	Ka.32A11BC	EMA
Normally these are used by the government for fighting forrest fires. This one was also carrying a bucket, but the strange thing is, there have been no fires in the neighbourhood here and today it is raining.... Anyway, I didn't mind it coming over.

A new INEM AB.412 today (20 March): CS-HNL
This is a new registration and judging by the colours I think it is the ex EC-HFD.

Thanks.... but it must have returned back to the Spanish registry then, because I have seen it several times last year flying around here. Last time I recorded it was 20 December 2011 as EC-HFD.

While taking a walk I was buzzed by EC.120 EC-HEX -> correction CS-HEX. Flying low enough to read it without extra help...

Apparently it was not low enough to be read correctly: EC-HEX was a PA23-250 Aztec!!

While at my in-laws house in Pontinha, all of a sudden a bush fire started close to us. Within not too long the whole area around the neighbourhood was burning. At some point a chopper came in to help with the fire fight. Without binoculars I could not read it, until it came right over the house to put a load of water on a fire only 50 meters from us. Three runs later the fire was out. No damage done, but the fire did get a little too close for me.

It's been hot for a couple of days now, so fires are starting again. Close by there is one now with the smoke clearly visible and a strong fire smell even in the house. Ka.32 CS-HML is flying around again to help put it out.

For quite some months already a blue and yellow AB.412 with INEM titles is flying around here. It always manages to stay just far enough away for me not to read it completely, but what I have managed to pin down is that it is CS-H.J. The missing character is either H or N. Neither the HHJ, nor the HNJ is known at the moment, so I am afraid it will remain unknown for some time.... If anybody has some useful info I would be very thankful, otherwise I will keep trying to possitively identify this bird.
