What is that on that MD-11

I lately notice something sticking out of the side of a md-11.
I would like to ask you guys what purpose it severs:

Outflow valve wich is open.

Reactie van een KLM-werknemer: Outflow valves. De druk in de cabine word hiermee geregeld.
