No more "Continental" Callsign

Post by joost »

With full credit en permission of Allan Stern:
as of today, the airline callsign "Continental" will not be used. They will be "United South or United Houston!"
Already report was made that there was indeed an Increase of United callsign at KEWR but without "South" or "Houston" although also lots of "continental" was still heard elsewhere in USA

Bottomline is in my opinion, in very near future we won't here "continental" anymore
Think it also effects Flightnumber designation all changing to UAL?

Reason for this mentioned here
On 11/27, UA and CO will receive a Single Operating Certificate. The Continental callsign disappears from 6AM Eastern Time on Sunday.
