Azerbaijan has taken delivery of the first two Mi-35M (export designation for Mi-24VM) helicopters. Begin December, both were seen at Rostov-na-Donu in an all white colour devoid of any national markings and serials. The Mi-35M are part of an order for 24 Mi-35M. The total contract price for the purchase is $360 million. The other helicopters of the deal should be delivered in 2012. It was also reported Azerbaijan was already operating 20 Soviet-built Mi-24s of which a part was previously upgraded to Mi-24G “Super Hind” by South African ATE (Advanced Technologies and Engineering) and the Ukranian company Aviacon at Konotop.
