I've planned to visit Vergiate and the Agusta museum as wel. Thanks for the info.Basman wrote:Hi Jeroen,
I visited Venegono about 4 years ago. It is a very quiet airfield, I saw just a couple of prototypes (M346 and M311) flying. If you are after numbers, you might be lucky if they have some planes in for maintenance are if they are about to deliver some new ones. I saw three Nigerian AF MB339's, not bad!. There are some nice W&R's on and around the airfield as well. Furthermore, there is a Guardia di Finanza unit based here, in the northeastern corner of the airfield. Just ringing the door bell might give you access to their hangar (it did work for me, but I have the added advantage of speaking Italian...).
If you are in the area, don't forget to visit Vergiate as well. Very interesting for the exotic choppers that Agusta is delivering regularly.

Please remember that August is THE holiday month for the whole of Italy. August 15 is called 'Feragosto', that day nobody will work. Most people will take at least the week before and the week after august 15 as leave, and many companies will be totally closed.Went to Venegono in August 2010 on a weekday and the airport was completely dead. I didn't see a single plane. I expect the summer months are not so busy at Vernegono.
I will go in juli and i know you are married to an Italian i'm your ex neighbour!Basman wrote:Please remember that August is THE holiday month for the whole of Italy. July should be no problem, it is considered a normal working period by most Italians.
